CGTech Celebrates 30th Anniversary
The maker of Vericut was founded 30 years ago to provide software that verifies NC tool paths without using machine time to make a prove-out part.

CGTech (Irvine, California), the developer of Vericut software, is celebrating three decades of business. The company, which has 10 wholly-owned subsidiaries, is continuing to release CNC simulation and optimization technologies.
“CGTech may have started 30 years ago, but we continue coming out with new products while enhancing our core capabilities,” says President Jon Prun. “Vericut development is driven by our customers’ needs, and we always encourage input from users and partners. We host nearly 50 free Vericut user group meetings worldwide each year to gather valuable customer feedback.”
The company began when Mr. Prun recognized a need to verify NC toolpath programs without using CNC machining time on a prove-out part. Vericut enabled users to test NC machine tool paths in an off-line, virtual environment simulating material removal using a three-dimensional solid model.
Over the years the company has added enhancements designed to support complex multi-axis kinematics, reduce machine tool cycle times, increase tool life and simulate the additive capabilities of hybrid machines. The company also develops several software products for companies using automated composite machinery, along with drilling and fastening machines used for airframe assembly.
The company has customers in a range of industries, including aerospace and automotive, and direct offices located in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, China, Singapore, India, Brazil and Korea.
