Ewon, a provider of industrial VPN routers and Ethernet modems for PLCs and machines, has joined the Mitsubishi Electric Automation E-Factory Alliance Program. Mitsubishi (Vernon Hills, Ill.) introduced the third-party referencing program as means to help customers increase productivity and reduce total cost of ownership in their automation processes.
As a member of the program Ewon (Nivelles, Belgium) will offer access options including remote HMI capability for monitoring machines using a built-in web server, data logging capabilities and alarming features. According to Mitsubishi, after setting the correct IP address, no programming of hardware is required to use the Ewon devices on its machines.
