Knuth Celebrates 15 Years in United States
Since Knuth Machine Tools USA opened in 2003, the company has more than doubled its number of employees and expanded to provide equipment and services across North, Central and South America.

Knuth Machine Tools USA Inc. is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Knuth was founded in Germany in 1923, and Knuth Machine Tools USA opened in 2003 in Wheeling, Illinois. In 2007, the U.S. company outgrew its 15,000-square foot building in Wheeling and moved to a 65,000-square foot facility in Lincolnshire, Illinois.
Since its beginning, the company has more than doubled its number of employees to more than 400 and is expanding its reach from North and Central America to include South America. It also has established a dealer network of more than 65 partners in the Americas.
President Daniel Maerklin is proud of the company’s growth, saying, “Our strategy of customer-focused, friendly employees selling a high-quality product at the best price has paid off.”
In addition to sales, the company’s facility has a service, application and parts department including an on-site machine shop. The company is focused on customer service, implementing a system to guarantee a call back within 30 minutes. In 2015, its service department was acknowledged with a Stevie Award for Best Customer Service Department of the Year.
