Schunk imX Exhibit Highlights Automation
Schunk says its technology offering at the upcoming imX (interactive manufacturing experience) industry event will focus on automated solutions that increase manufacturing efficiency on a large scale.

- The VERO-S quick-change pallet system, which clamps workpieces, pallets, clamping stations, and tombstones via one or several clamping pins.
- The ROTA THWplus quick jaw-change chuck, which enables changing a complete jaw set with repeatability of less than 0.0005 inch in less than 60 seconds.
- The Tendo E compact, which eliminates the need to use different tool holder technologies for milling, drilling, and reaming. These hydraulic expansion toolholders can safely transfer torques of up to 520 Nm (384 ft-lbs) at a 20 mm clamping diameter and are suited for high volume cutting, the company says.
- A gripper range featuring multi-tooth guidance. According to the company, multi-tooth guidance spreads the load across many shoulders, enabling the use of longer gripper fingers with the same gripper size without overloading the guidance. The company says the added guiding area reduces the surface pressure and, by extension, wear, while multi-tooth guidance ensures minimal guidance play throughout the gripper's service life.
