Suited for contract manufacturing and OEMs, the TNW-3500R automated lathe permits turning, drilling and milling operations. Featuring twin spindles, a gantry robot and a slant bed, the lathe offers easy change-over for high-mix, high-volume production, the company says. Recommended gantry robot work size is 7.5" × 4" (190 × 105 mm).  A live tool turret performs secondary operations; live tool motor power is 3/5 hp. For built-in automation, the lathe offers a gantry loader with a 22-lb capacity and dual 10-tool turrets. The lathe’s A2-6 spindle turns via a 15/20-hp spindle motor and operates at a maximum speed of 4,200 rpm. Other features include a 12-station work stocker, a chip conveyor, a set of turret holders and a Fanuc 310i-A CNC. Also available is an optional Intelligent Load Monitor, which detects insert wear and breakage without requiring additional sensors. The monitor is programmable by touch screen.
