Bridge Mill Features High Torque At Low RPM

Designed for net-shape machining of large, 3D molds and dies, Johnford’s Hi-Net DMC-1500HN high speed bridge mill features XYZ axis travels of 59" × 35" × 30". Available from Absolute Machine Tools, the machine is capable of rapid traverse rates of 944 ipm in the X and Y axes and 590 ipm in the Z axis.
The standard 15,000-rpm HSK-100A spindle delivers 56 hp and 300 ft-lbs of torque at 1,000 rpm. The machine is also available with optional 24,000-rpm and 18,000-rpm spindles. Other standard features include a high-volume coolant system, a Fanuc 18iM-B CNC and a 24-tool ATC. ATCs with 32 or 40 tools are also available.
