DP Technology’s Esprit 2012 CAM software features enhanced turning, milling, turn-mill and wire EDM cycles. The “park” cycle for turning enables a tool head or turret to be parked on each axis using one of four individually controlled modes: not parking the axis; moving the axis to home; moving the tool to the input position in the operation coordinate system; and moving the axis to the input position in the machine-coordinate system.
Milling enhancements include A method has been added for treating contouring operation features during milling applications. Rather than allowing the tool to roll over the edge when it is at or near the starting depth, the feature edge can be extended to maintain the desired shape.
The software features extension settings for wire EDM that extend the extremities of the feature so the wire path can start or end outside the material when contouring or EDMing during turning operations. This enables the wire path to be extended without modifying the feature.
