K2CNC’s KW waterjet machines are designed for prototyping applications and short production runs of smaller, intricate workpieces. According to the company, the CNC waterjets can save time by precutting material prior to mill machining. The waterjets are suitable for cutting metals, stone, glass, rubber and foam, and are available in 4- × 4-, 4- × 8- and 5- × 10-ft. sizes, as well as custom configurations.
The company’s K2MC control box features a DSP–based motion control board with custom servodrives. The control box provides accurate, real-time feedback of positioning to keep the system fully closed loop. All KW models feature 20-mm high-precision linear guide rails and guide blocks, along with rack and pinion on all axes. Servomotors and high-count encoders ensure precision. The waterjets are equipped with KMT pumps and cutting software with nesting capabilities.
