Keller Products, a division of Plastic Design Inc., has developed a line of dedicated filtration systems driven by air diaphragm pumps. The coolant is drawn from the machine sump, filtered, and returned to the sump on a continuous basis. Flow rates for the smaller systems are as high as 10 gallons per min. The bag design and aluminum filter housing enable mounting directly to the side of the machine tool. The unit can achieve filtration levels as low as 1 micron. If the customer is working with steel, magnetic rod assemblies can be used in conjunction with the bag filter for enhanced chip removal capabilities. A variety of configurations are available.
