Precision Cutting Tools offers cutting tools produced using its Edge Cut manufacturing process, which adds a controlled radius on the tool’s cutting edge. Also known as honing or edge preparation, this process is said to create an even, strong cutting edge that reduces the risk of edge chipping and cracking while dissipating the stress and force focus. The tools are capable of chatter-free machining, leaving a smooth finish on the part. According to the company, the Edge Cut method also increases coating adhesion for efficient chip evacuation and wear resistance. Higher speeds and feeds as well as longer tool life are said to be possible with these tools.
