Jet Edge’s Edge X-5 five-axis waterjet cuts precise, taper-free, 3D parts such as impellers from a variety of materials and can bevel to 50 degrees. It is ballscrew-driven for optimal precision and features direct-couple AC brushless digital servomotors as well as single or double carriages. Critical bearing components are protected with heavy metal covers with brush seals and positive air pressure. Designed for harsh industrial environments, a sturdy construction separates the waterjet’s motion system from the catcher tank, eliminating vibration and ensuring maximum part quality. The waterjet is available in sizes ranging from 5 × 5 ft. (1,500 × 1,500 mm) to 24 × 13 ft. (7,300 × 3,900 mm). An optional second cutting head can be added to double productivity. The waterjet is equipped with an Aquavision Di industrial PC controller.
