Flexible Machining Center With Multiple Stations
Share

The Icon 6-250 productivity center is said to combine flexible machining center principles with a rotary transfer production philosophy. The center can have as many as eight tools in the cut at once with eight machining units—four horizontal and four vertical. Each machining unit is equipped with a 10-tool changer and a Fanuc CNC. Four-axis interpolation enables five-sided machining.  The small-footprint center accommodates part sizes ranging from a 2" cube to an 8" cube. A six-position, pallet-changing table transports the 300-mm workholding pallets between stations. The loading station is designed for manual or robotic configurations. The center also includes an idle station for re-clamping or inspection. The self-supporting machine base and rigid frame weldment require no special foundation, the company says.
