Designed for ease-of-use, Sharp CNC’s SV 2412 Mini Mill has is flexible enough for both high-torque, heavy-duty cutting and high speed 3D machining operations, the company says. The machine has XYZ axis travels of 24" × 12" × 18". The worktable measures 27" × 12" and can accommodate as much as 800 lbs. With positioning accuracy of ±0.0002" and repeatability of ±0.0001", the machine is equipped with an 8,000-rpm spindle with CAT 40 taper, Fanuc Digital AC servomotors and drives and a 10-tool capacity pocket tool changer. An optional 10,000-rpm spindle and 16-tool-capacity tool changer are also available.
Featuring rapid traverse of 1,181 ipm in all axes, the machine uses a Fanuc control. The control is equipped with word-processor editing, one-button features, a multi-function jog handle and manual-guide programming.
