ANCA’s FX7 Linear tool and cutter grinder features a 19-kW wheel spindle to accommodate a range of tool types and geometries. As part of the company’s FX Linear line of machines for lower-volume manufacturing, regrinding and full production, the FX7 grinder is suitable for tools ranging to 4" diameter. The maximum length for OD grinding is 7.8", or 9" for face grinding. Maximum tool weight is 44 lbs, and maximum wheel diameter is 8".
The grinder is equipped with ANCA-designed LinX linear motors in the X and Y axes, while the vertical Z axis uses a preloaded ballscrew to move the grinding head. Coupled with linear scales, the linear motors are said to provide high precision for improved tool accuracy and surface finish. The grinding wheel is positioned in the C axis centerline and helps to reduce the effects of temperature on machine elements. It also features a compact design and polymer concrete base. The ANCA CNC Pad operator panel with full touchscreen offers Windows 8 functionality, and a new hand-held pendant improves operator access to the machine during setup.
