Fibro offers its Fibromat modular heavy-load positioning tables. Originally designed for building-shell construction and welding applications, the rotary tables with a large center bore hole are also well-suited for applications within the automotive industry. Capable of handling equipment ranging to 9,500 mm in diameter and transport loads ranging to 25,000 kg, the series covers almost all areas of car body and system construction, the company says. Tables are available in four sizes with tabletop diameters of 800, 1,000, 1,250 or 1,600 mm.

In the basic version, the rotary table is equipped with an asynchronous servo gear motor with a preconfigured drive converter. Other common motor types can also be used. The drives are placed so that they can be removed downward with minimal effort and without dismantling the connection. In the basic version without an automatic drive, the table can be rotated manually or driven by a robot. When equipped with one drive, the company says it covers the majority of all possible applications, and with two parallel drives the table enables shorter switching times and optimized control response.

The modular rotary table features a cross-roller bearing that can take up high tilting moments in the axial and radial directions. It can also be equipped with indexing units ranging to Division 38 with accuracy at ±20 angle sec. and repeat accuracy at 10 angle sec., according to size. Alternatively, any position can be freely taught and tensioned using the motor brake without play by software with a master-slave drive. The module program includes a media distributor, collector ring transfers and absolute measuring systems that can reduce indexing accuracy to 5 angle sec. For use in welding systems or stations, all seals are covered to protect from weld beads.
