Northfield Precision Instrument’s high speed balancing chuck locates a universal joint using built-in V-blocks and two diaphragm jaws. The jaws and blocks center the workpiece while two arms slide down to face clamp.
The company also designs and manufactures air chucks for virtually any lathe, boring machine, grinder or VMC. Through-hole, high speed and quick-change models are offered. The chucks are available in SAE or metric sizes ranging from 3" to 18" (76 to 457 mm) and accuracies ranging from 0.001" to 0.00001".
