Jorgensen Conveyors Inc. and Weima America Inc. have partnered to provide improved chip management solutions to end users.
The companies have integrated Jorgensen’s line of conveyors into a chip processing system that shreds metal chips and shavings and forms them into briquettes. According to the companies, the system can reduce the volume of aluminum, magnesium, copper, brass, steel and other metals by up to 90 percent. The system reduces material handling and labor, increases scrap value and improves the extraction of cutting fluids.
“Providing products and systems that enhance productivity and offer a solid return on investment is always our focus,” says John D’Amico, co-principal at Jorgensen Conveyors. “These integrated chip handling and processing systems support environmentally sensitive and sustainable manufacturing as well as the maximization of recycled content.”
