The Kurt Pyramid workholding platform is designed to attach three Kurt vises for five-axis machining of multiple parts in one setup. The 45-degree vise mounting surface is positioned so that each vise provides maximum access to all machined surfaces and allows for enhanced spindle and cutting tool clearance.
The Pyramid platform is made of 7075 anodized aluminum and has a 12" diameter base to fit a variety of five-axis CNC machines. The Pyramid comes pre-drilled for easy mounting to most machine tables, pallets or sub plates.
The Kurt vises designed to fit the Pyramid include five-axis dovetail vises and five-axis self-centering vises. Workpiece size can range from 2" to 12" blanks. The company’s HP420, HP440, HP460, SCMX250, SCMX425, DTR20 and KTR35 models also fit the Pyramid platform.
A variety of jaws can be used in the Kurt five-axis vises, including dovetail jaws, machinable jaws and serrated jaws.
