SIC Marking offers the XL-Box laser marking workstation designed to increase productivity in marking and traceability operations. Based on the company’s L-Box marking system, the machine is equipped with a fiber laser source doped with ytterbium, enabling light or deep markings of alphanumeric codes, barcodes and 2D data matrix codes on most metals and some plastics. According to SIC Marking, the resulting high-contrast markings can be produced within hundredths of a second and can be or verified by human or camera.
The compact laser marking machine offers a 550 × 550 mm (21.65" × 21.65") work area and accommodates workpieces ranging to 370 mm (14.56") in height. A T-slot table with threaded holes facilitates fixturing for workpiece support. The Z axis is equipped with a 235-mm (9.25") motorized axis system. A pneumatically powered door closes automatically when the marking cycle is launched and reopens at the end of the cycle. The unit is controlled by a USB-connected PC equipped with the company’s SIC Laser software for configuring marking. Options include a rotary D axis, Z axis operated by software, a swing plate and more.
