Emuge introduces its FPC mill/drill chucks designed to improve rigidity, vibration dampening, concentricity, machining speed and tool life compared to conventional chucks for milling and drilling. According to the company, the chucks feature a 1-to-16 worm gear ratio and deliver 3 tons of traction force. On a tool shank dimeter of 20 mm, the transferred torque is 400 Nm.
Features include a 3×D tool length and concentricity of less than 3 microns. The chuck is mechanical-drive actuated with a hex wrench that enables quick tool change. The holder is designed to reduce vibration, improving workpiece surface finishes.
FPC chucks are available in four shank styles (CAT, HSK-A, SK and BT) in 47 different SKUs for a range of applications. Additional collets and accessories are available with collets in three size ranges: FPC 14, FPC 20 and FPC 25, and in over 35 different skews, ranging from 1/8" to 1 ¼" (in metric from 2 to 32 mm).
