Yama Seiki offers Goodway’s GTW series multi-axis turning centers for the medical and automotive industries, capable of efficiently completing complex workpieces front and back. Combining turret and gang tooling systems, this machine is said to be more convenient for programming. A new X-axis design on the subspindle provides high efficiency of working space, the company says. The gang tooling can continue working after catching the workpiece from subspindle, with no need to return to home position, further increasing efficiency. Twin spindles plus collet chuck enable dual face turning on any shaft-type workpiece. A separated coolant tank and rear-side chip conveyor design ease maintenance and promote efficient cooling.
The machine has a twin Y axis with driven turret, gang tooling system and C axis to improve flexibility and enable complex turning processes. The X, Y, and Z axes use high-speed, high-accuracy linear guideways to ensure structural rigidity for rapid feed rates.
The gang tooling system provides eight-station live tooling and is driven by an AC servomotor with high torque for hard machining. The system also enables rapid tool changes.
