The Nakamura-Tome AS-200 multitasking turning center available from Methods Machine Tools features a single spindle, single turret in a heavy-duty, compact machine. The high-rigidity multitasking machine is equipped with a milling drive, high-speed C axis and 82-mm-stroke Y axis for accurate, finished parts. The Y axis also enables off-center turning, drilling and milling.
The turning tool measures 1.0" (25 mm), while the inside boring shank is 1.25" (32 mm). The machine’s standard spindle speed is 4,500 rpm, and a 7.5-hp milling motor on a 6,000-rpm, 12-station turret accommodates 24 tools. Maximum turning diameter is 13.4" (340 mm), while maximum turning length is 11.8" (300 mm).
The multitasking turning center also is equipped with a 10.4" high-resolution LCD panel and FANUC 0iTD controller. It also features the NT Nurse II System for operation, programming and production support; NT Work Navigator for workpiece setups; and overload detection via an air bag to reduce impact caused by machine collisions.
