SmartCAM has added enhancements to its CAM software to provide customers with Job Information Management functions for the organizing and capturing of job and process data. These new features allow users to create a “master job library,” which they can populate by capturing and collecting the tooling, operation parameters and speeds and feeds from their previous jobs. Additional libraries also can be created to represent special job setups or families of parts.
The ability to use existing job data means libraries can reflect the manufacturers own in-house processes. In addition, the libraries can be usedto storedefined tools or job informationfor use in a future job or toretrieve past data for use in a current job. Speeds and feeds that recently have been optimized can be promoted back to the library for future use.
