Sugino’s SSV2 Selfeeder servo series can be mounted to robots for increased control and flexibility in automated drilling applications. The servo measures 15.5" × 3.9" × 8.3" (392.5 × 100 × 210 mm) and weighs 33 lbs (15 kg). According to Sugino, the SSV2’s compact size makes it well-suited for automated robot applications in the aerospace industry where a hard-mounted drill would not apply. The servo also offers a high-power motor and spindle speeds ranging from 390 to 20,000 rpm. It is suitable for small-diameter drilling in aluminum, cast iron and steel.
