SolidCAM’s InventorCAM 2008 software is said to integrate with Inventor 2008 for enhanced user friendliness, more automation features and additional interactive CAM functions. The single-window user interface andÌýfull associativity between the CAD model and NC toolpath provides efficient flow from the 3D design model to the machined part, the company says.
Ìý
The software includes a new user interface for milling operations and the capability to define user-specific default templates for parameter settings. Also, the 3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator mouse is supported as a new input device, and the software’s framework allows external application programs to be integrated.
Ìý
Automatic Feature Recognition and Machining capability (AFRM) for multiple drills and complex holes has been enhanced for 2.5D pockets. AFRM capability can also be used for multi-level closed and open pockets in a solid model, in addition to through pockets. An updated tool table for milling supports a broad range of milling tools. Additional operations for the milling of 3D profiles and T-slots have been added for 2.5D milling.
Ìý
The updated software uses STL files as input for the generation of high speed machining tool paths. In simultaneous five-axis milling, 12 dedicated operations are available for specific tasks, including swarf and port machining; electrode milling; andÌýimpeller and turbine-blade machining.
