The 2013 release of Geometric Technologies’ CAMWorks solid-based CNC programming software is designed for easier programming and faster toolpath machining. The synchronous machining module (SMM) handles multitasking machines more easily than previous versions, the company says. Other new features include an optional update to VoluMill V5.0 performance tool path to reduce cycle times while maintaining tool life; an enhanced set of APIs that simplifies integration and automation of the design to manufacturing cycles; three-axis machining from an STL file; and automatic correction of contour mill lead-ins and lead-outs.
