DMG MORI’s two XXL machines, the DMU 200 gantry and DMU 340 gantry, are designed for large-part applications. Both models offer five-axis simultaneous machining and combine a large work area with a small footprint, according to the company.
The DMU 200 is suitable for the aerospace, automotive, mold making and energy industries. Its spindle rotates as fast as 30,000 rpm. With optional Ultrasonic or Lasertec technology, the gantry can machine aluminum, composite or welded components as heavy as 22,046 lbs.
Featuring a top gantry design, the DMU 340 produces parts for the aerospace, mechanical engineering, and tool and mold manufacturing industries. Its work area measures 134" × 110" × 49". Expansion options ranging to 236" in the X axis and 59" in the Z axis are available.
