New features of the Atling AX series from LMC Workholding are designed to extend the life of the self-centering steady rests and their parts. The housing is made of cast iron, and all moving parts also are hardened. All models in the series are equipped with roller wiper seals to prevent chips from entering the housing.
The steady rests are available in 11 standard sizes with clamping ranges of 6-70 mm to 450-870 mm. Custom sizes also are available. The steady rests feature swing-away levers; automatic lubrication; a water-flush system to prevent chips from coming between the rollers and the workpiece; stroke control; check valves; and air barriers. They are available with a built-in or pneumatic cylinder. Other options include standard wipers, mounting brackets and cambered rollers.
