Suited for the aerospace industry, Handtmann’s HBZ AeroCell HMC is designed for high-performance cutting of aluminum plates, bars and profiles. The horizontalÌýconfiguration providesÌýoptimal chip and coolant evacuation at high material removal rates, the company says. The machine’s pallet-changing system can accommodate parts as large as 4 × 2 mm. These parameters are achievedÌývia a Fischer HSC spindle with 110 kW, speeds up to 80 m per minute in all linear axes and acceleration to 0.7 G.Ìý

In addition, the machine is designed to reduce downtimes during loading and unloading to increase output. The table has a loading arm to minimize space requirements. Also, two possibilities for loading—from the top orÌýfrom the side—makes the machine suited for heavy parts and clamping fixtures, the company says.
