Available from Missler Software, a new interface between the developer’s TopSolid’Cam and CGTech’s Vericut is designed to improve machine simulation visualisation. This can provide important productivity gains to TopSolid’Cam and Vericut users, the company says. Target customers include users of the two software solutions that work with large aerospace parts and companies involved in the machining of prototype parts. Such manufacturers work with multi-function machines or large machining centers and use expensive raw materials, the company says.
The interface allows Vericut to be opened directly from TopSolid’Cam. All information relating to the part, the stock and the tools used is transferred directly from TopSolid’Cam, thereby eliminating the need to input the information a second time. According to the company, the interface is important for users who need to work quickly. It enables users to open Vericut directly from TopSolid while they are working with TopSolid’Cam, ensuring a maximum level of integration and interoperability.
The new interface offers important time savings that can provide users with a competitive advantage, the company says. The development of a direct link to Vericut is also an important step in the verification of the ISO code generated by TopSolid’Cam postprocessors. The part and machine environment simulation already provided by TopSolid’Cam together with the advanced ISO simulation provided in Vericut can reduce potential collisions, the company says.Â
