Heidenhain’s KGM 282 verification tool helps users pinpoint problems in machine tool dynamics to increase accuracy. Featuring Heidenhain’s two-coordinate Titanid phase grating and a 230-mm-diameter measuring range, the tool provides an accuracy of ±1 micron. The two-piece aluminum holder helps to maintain the measure standard when the tool is mounted to an uneven surface. Multiple complex 2D movements can be used to thoroughly test the dynamics of a machine. Using a combination of the company’s Accom evaluation software and EIB 741, the user can evaluate and store the 2D motion of the machine on a laptop with an Ethernet connection.
