VMC For Machining Mold And Die Parts
Share

The VMC 4525 combines a 53.5" × 25" table with a 15,000-rpm air/oil spindle and Infimatic Freedom NC200 control with a mold and die package. The C-frame architecture features a wide base, heavily ribbed cast iron construction and integral, flame-hardened box ways with large, 40-mm ballscrews. This is said to provide vibration damping to deliver heavy cuts with tolerances to ±0.00016". The VMC has X-, Y- and Z-axis travels of 45" × 25" × 24" to accommodate large mold workpieces or enabling simultaneous machining of matching die halves.  The control reads code at 1,500 blocks per second to perform 2D and 3D contouring cuts. It includes GibbsCAM SolidSurfacer high-level surface and solid modeling software; responsive servo loop closure for enhanced accuracy; and PurePath algorithms for smooth surface finish. Integral, graphical 3D software simplifies programming.
