Toyoda Machinery has added high speed linear way machines to its vertical machining line. The high-performance machines are designed for precise, high speed applications. The FV-S series offers high accuracy, thermal stability and maximum vibration damping characteristics, the company says.
The FV850S and FV1050S VMCs feature a rigid, Meehanite cast iron base that increases the density and uniform soundness over traditional cast iron, providing greater tensile strength and maximum vibration-damping capabilities, the company says. Rapid traverse rates range to 1,890 ipm in the X and Y axes and 1,417 ipm in the Z axis.
Other features include a Fanuc 18i CNC with a large, color LCD display and manual guide i conversational programming. The high-performance spindle and ATC technology are said to increase machine operability and part throughput.
