VMC Line Features Three Performance Levels
Share

The new CFV vertical machining center line has three standard performance packages with three control options. Designed for general machining, the CFV i has a 40-taper, 10,000-rpm spindle and 30-hp motor that provides 104 foot-pounds of torque. It has a 21-tool magazine (30 tool optional).
The CFV Xi is designed for automotive and high production applications, and features a 40-taper, 12,500-rpm spindle and 30-hp motor with 83 foot-pounds of torque. It also has rapid traverse of up to 1,811 ipm and a side-mounted, 30-tool magazine.

The CFV Si is designed for die/mold and high speed machining, featuring a 37-hp (continuous), 20,000-rpm HSK spindle (40,000 rpm optional). It has a motor that provides 46 foot-pounds of torque and a 21-tool magazine.

Each machine has a cast iron base, column and spindle carrier for static and dynamic stiffness, which is said to produce excellent surface finish especially at high speeds. A THK SNS way system with long series bearing units is standard on the Z axis. The company says a new twin-tube carrier structure provides high torsion rigidity for deep cuts and end milling operations.

The machines have an X axis of up to 1,300 mm, a throat distance of 585 mm and a Y-axis range of 540 mm to allow machining of wide parts. They feature automatic swarf extraction with a base pan including integral sloping channels and fully enclosed linear guideways.
