VMC Series Designed For Accurate, Precise Machining
Share

The Series 12K from Chiron America, Inc. is designed for precision machining operations. Its modular design allows the machine to be configured as a single-spindle (FZ 12K) or dual-spindle (DZ 12K) machining center.

Some features of the VMC are a chip-to-chip time of 1.9 seconds and a 4.5-ton cast mineral machine bed, which is said to offer dampening characteristics, thermal stability and rigidity. The machine bed also provides a motionless counterbalance for traverse speeds of more than 3,500 ipm, with acceleration as high as 2 G.

One or two spindle rotary tables can be integrated for machining complex parts in one setup. The FX 12K and dual-spindle DX 12K have XYZ travels of 21" x 12" x 14" (550 x 320 x 360 mm) and spindle speeds as high as 15,000 rpm.Ìý
