Kitamura’s Mycenter-2XiF Sparkchanger offers accurate hogging, roughing and fine finishing that can be completed in a single setup, according to the company. With its space-saving footprint and flexibility, the sparkchanger offers simultaneous three-axis machining.
Designed for machining in higher quantities, the center allows for workpieces to be presented to the spindle quickly and be positioned with accuracy of ±0.000078". With the two-station APC, the operator can load/unload pallets while machining. Hardened box ways are ground to 16-micron finish and coated with fluorine-based resin (Turcite-B) to absorb vibration.
Standard features include a 15-hp, AC spindle motor with a four-speed geared head and dual-contact spindle system. Standard spindle speed is 15,000 rpm with optional speeds of 10,000 rpm and 20,000 rpm. The center also offers rapid feed on the X and Y axes of 1,969 ipm and 1,417 ipm on the Z axis.
