The Bosch Rexroth IndraControl VEP series of PC-based human/machine interfaces (HMIs) provides PC power and functionality with an embedded Windows CE operating system.
The system uses flashcard technology and multiple operator platforms, allowing equipment designers to choose the best configuration for each machine application and environment.
The system is said to be useful for machine start-up, inputting large values, jogging axes and supervisory-level HMI functions. It has a 600 Mhz processor and 512 MB of RAM to handle multiple software applications. A 1 Ghz processor is also available.
The system can also be used as a soft PLC with a Profibus Master. Firmware is available to make the system suitable for use with standard CNC and PLC HMI applications such as the company’s MTX compact CNC system or its IndraLogic L20/L40 PLCs.
The system is available with a range of display sizes from 8.4″ to 15″. A USB port on the front offers extra functionality for a memory stick, keyboard or mouse.
